This has been a really tough week for Mitt Romney.
And it’s only Tuesday.
Oh well.
I have to agree with Shrum, in this article, about the GOP coming off their political rails. Think about this for a moment. The people currently in charge, (i.e. Tea Party), are rabidly conservative. They actually don’t disagree with Romney’s leaked video. They actually believe he’s right to say 47% of Americans are moochers.
Stunningly, they don’t understand that THEY make up the large percentage of THAT particular percentage.
Go figure.
Anyway, Romney can’t be too outrageously conservative for them. Problem is, when he says and does things that make the Tea Party people happy, he scares the b’jeezus out of everybody else.
And everybody else . . . us . . . is the vast majority.
But the Conservatives (Big C) want to take back the country. They just don’t seem to understand, that would be like the British taking back India. “Wait . . . Dude . . . it’s not yours!”
At any rate, the looming war within the GOP has already started, and it’s anybody’s guess how it’ll end.
We can only hope the fanatics are tossed overboard, along with their tea.
